USS Intrepid Community Outreach

Philanthropy & Community Service

Taking the values that bring us together as Star Trek fans and finding ways to make a positive difference beyond Intrepid.

The spirit of Star Trek has always been about more than exploring strange new worlds. It imagines a future built upon compassion, cooperation, service, and working together for the benefit of others.

Aboard the USS Intrepid, we hope to carry some of those values beyond fandom and into the communities around us.

Giving Back as a Crew

Throughout the year, Intrepid will look for opportunities for our crew to come together in support of charitable and community causes.

Depending on the opportunity, crew members might be invited to:

Support Community Causes

Charitable organizations and community initiatives.

Raise Awareness

Participate in awareness campaigns and educational initiatives.

Take Part in Service

Join community, environmental, or STARFLEET service opportunities.

Fundraise When Appropriate

Support donation or fundraising initiatives when opportunities arise.

Share What Matters

Bring forward causes and organizations meaningful to our crew members.

Contribute Your Time

Help through participation, service, advocacy, or volunteering.

Participation is always voluntary. Giving back can mean donating, but it certainly doesn’t have to.

Time, participation, awareness, and acts of service can all make a meaningful difference.

Supporting Parker Street’s Christmas Hamper Program

Current Fundraising Initiative

Christmas Hamper Program

Campaign Dates
October 5 – November 29, 2026

For our first chapter philanthropy initiative, the USS Intrepid is supporting Parker Street Food & Furniture Bank’s Christmas Hamper Program in Nova Scotia — the home province of our chapter.

The program helps financially vulnerable families and individuals across the Halifax Regional Municipality by providing the ingredients for a Christmas turkey dinner, with toys also provided for families with children.

A global crew supporting our home community.
Although Intrepid’s crew spans the world, this inaugural initiative gives us an opportunity to support the community surrounding our Nova Scotia home port.

Please Give Only If You Comfortably Can

No crew member should feel any pressure to donate or place themselves under financial strain to participate. We encourage personal donations to remain $10 or less and hope to demonstrate what our community can accomplish through many small contributions.

If donating isn’t possible, sharing the fundraiser or helping raise awareness are equally welcome ways to support the initiative.

Giving back is about more than fundraising.

Service, awareness, participation, and compassion all help us make a difference together.
