Sept 2026 – Monthly Crew Update
September was another busy and rewarding month aboard the USS Intrepid, as our crew continued to build momentum during our shakedown journey.
From chapter socials and fleet-wide events to new milestones and opportunities for involvement, it has been wonderful to see our members continuing to engage, contribute, and help shape the future of the chapter.
🖖 Connecting as a Crew
Our members continued to make time to connect socially throughout September, including another successful Intrepid Crew Social hosted by CMDR Kevin K.
Crew members also ventured beyond the chapter to participate in the SOL Speaker Series, hosted by STARFLEET Science, as we continue to encourage involvement in opportunities taking place across the wider fleet.
These activities complement the growing number of chapter, auxiliary, and fleet-wide events available to our members — whether they choose to participate a little or a lot.
🗣️ Our First Chapter Business Meeting
September marked another important milestone with USS Intrepid holding its first-ever Chapter Business Meeting.
Nine crew members attended virtually and took part in some excellent discussion and collaborative decision-making about the future of the chapter.
We were very pleased with the level of participation and engagement. Our next couple of business meetings will take place on a bi-monthly basis, with meetings planned for November and January.
⚕️ Taking on the Challenges
Intrepid crew continued their strong participation in STARFLEET Medical’s monthly challenges.
Three members contributed a combined 2,833 pages to the Monthly Reading Challenge, while four crew members recorded an impressive 880,673 steps toward the Permanent Monthly Step Challenge.
Those steps also contributed to Region 13’s overall standing, giving our crew another opportunity to represent Intrepid beyond the chapter.
🛡️ MSG-121 Launches Aboard Intrepid
September also brought an exciting new opportunity for involvement with the official launch of the 121st Marine Strike Group (MSG-121) aboard USS Intrepid.
1LT Andrew H. has taken on the role of Officer-in-Charge, providing another avenue for crew members who may wish to explore and participate more actively in the STARFLEET Marine Corps.
A special thank you and congratulations to 1LT Andrew H. for his leadership and the work involved in getting MSG-121 established aboard the ship. In recognition of their service, Andrew H. received an accelerated promotion to 1LT this month – announced at the chapter business meeting.
🐾 “One of Many” Becomes Official
Following a crew vote, our tribble mascot officially received the name “One of Many”, a name submitted by CMDR Kevin K.
The mascot was subsequently registered with PETFLEET and now has an official place on the roster — along with a dedicated profile on the USS Intrepid website.
Another small but fun piece of our chapter identity continues to fall into place!
🏅 Recognizing Our Founding Crew
At our September business meeting, all currently rostered crew members received the Intrepid Founding Members Citation.
These were the first chapter awards ever presented aboard USS Intrepid and were created as a way of recognizing those who have joined us during these early months and helped build the foundation of our chapter.
Congratulations to all of our founding crew!
🌐 Continuing to Grow
Behind the scenes, work also continues on upgrading and expanding the USS Intrepid website, strengthening the resources available to our current crew while making it easier for prospective members to learn about who we are and how they can get involved.
We are very pleased with the progress Intrepid continues to make.
What stands out most is not simply the number of activities taking place, but the willingness of our crew to participate, contribute ideas, support one another, and engage with the wider STARFLEET community.
Thank you to everyone who helped make September another active and memorable month aboard Intrepid.
Our shakedown journey continues — and we are always happy to welcome new members aboard.
LLAP! 🖖
