August 2026 – Monthly Crew Update
August was another busy month aboard the USS Intrepid! Our crew continued to grow, participated in events from across STARFLEET, celebrated several promotions, and reached some important milestones as we continue building our chapter community.
From our first official crew social to representing Intrepid and Region 13 at Fleet-wide events, there was plenty happening throughout the month.
🌟 Intrepid Around STARFLEET🌟
Our crew continued to take advantage of opportunities throughout the wider STARFLEET community this month.
Virtual International Conference 2026
August 1 – Four Intrepid crew members participated in VIC 2026, representing both the USS Intrepid and Region 13. Captain AJ M. also supported the conference as part of the VIC GatherTown planning committee and helped moderate activities throughout the day.
🔬 SOL Speaker Series
August 15 – Members of the crew attended the August SOL Speaker Series, hosted by STARFLEET Science.
💎 STARFLEET Diamond Classic
August 16 – Intrepid was represented during the first month of the STARFLEET Diamond Classic, with one of our crew members finishing an impressive 4th overall out of 18 participants!
🔭 Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope — Virtual Launch Party
August 30 – Three Intrepid crew members joined STARFLEET Science for its virtual Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Launch Party, another great opportunity to connect with members from across the Fleet while celebrating science and exploration. USS Intrepid also officially adopted a PIXEL from the telescope as well.
🎉 Our First Intrepid Social!
August 27 marked an important chapter milestone as seven crew members gathered for the USS Intrepid’s first official virtual crew social!
The evening was hosted by our Chief Diplomatic Officer, Commander Kevin K., who took the lead in organizing and hosting the event.
A huge thank you to Kevin for getting our social program underway and to everyone who joined us for the evening. We look forward to many more!
👟📚 Taking on the Challenges
Intrepid crew members also continued participating in STARFLEET Medical’s ongoing challenges throughout August:
👟 Permanent Monthly Step Challenge — getting active and contributing our steps alongside fellow members of Region 13.
📚 Monthly Reading Challenge — logging pages read throughout the month and contributing toward our collective participation.
Every submission helps represent both Intrepid and Region 13 in these Fleet-wide activities!
🧭 Intrepid Joins COMPASS
One milestone we missed mentioning in our previous update deserves some recognition!
The USS Intrepid is now officially registered in COMPASS, with our crew migrated into the platform and COMPASS beginning to play a role in chapter operations.
We’re particularly proud that Intrepid was the first chapter in Region 13 to participate in COMPASS and has also been helping demonstrate how the platform can support chapters during the shakedown process.
Our collaboration with Fleet Captain Dustin F. continues as we explore the platform and encourage our crew to become familiar with COMPASS.
👩🔬 Chief Science Officer Appointed
We were pleased to welcome Commodore Barb B. to Intrepid this month as the USS Intrepid’s – Chief Science Officer!
Barb brings her talents and enthusiasm to our Science Department as we continue developing opportunities for crew engagement aboard Intrepid.
📈 Our Crew Continues to Grow
We’ve also welcomed several new members aboard Intrepid during August!
Growing our crew and building an active, welcoming chapter community remain important priorities as we continue through shakedown. Recruitment efforts will continue in the months ahead.

September will mark another major milestone as the crew gathers for the USS Intrepid’s first official Chapter Business Meeting.

August was a month of participation, growth, recognition, and some important firsts for the USS Intrepid.

With our first chapter business meeting approaching and our crew continuing to grow, we’re excited to see where September takes us.
